Hull, Sunderland and Carlisle are the most affordable student cities across Great Britain, analysis from Rightmove shows.

In Hull and Sunderland you can typically rent for £804 per month, will Carlisle coming in just behind at £828 per month.

These are almost half as much as the GB average, which is £1,565 per month.

The average advertised rent for a two-bedroom flat is now £1,612 per month, while for a four-bedroom house it is now £2,260.
