Initial, a Saudi Arabia-based facilities management provider, has introduced TagPoint, a QR code and Near Field Communication-enabled solution designed to streamline service request management across client sites, as reported by Middle East Construction News.
The technology enables building users and client teams to submit service requests instantly via mobile devices by scanning QR or NFC tags at the point of need. Each request automatically captures structured information including details, location and timestamp, reducing reliance on telephone calls and email communications.
Ricardo Pascoal, chief operating officer for facilities management at Initial, said TagPoint provides a practical solution focused on improving how information enters systems. He added that capturing accurate, structured data at source makes it easier for teams to respond, prioritise work and maintain clear visibility across operations.
TagPoint integrates with existing facility management systems and operational processes, introducing a streamlined approach to request submission whilst complementing established workflows. Requests are automatically logged and tracked, with clients receiving confirmation and completion updates throughout the service cycle.
Since launch, TagPoint has captured tasks across maintenance, cleaning, pest control and landscaping services, providing clearer visibility of service demand and workload distribution. The structured data supports reporting and performance analysis, helping facilities teams identify trends and monitor service performance.
The solution forms part of Initial's ongoing focus on digital innovation, applying technology where it delivers measurable operational value to clients. Initial is rolling out TagPoint across selected sites, supporting a consistent, mobile-first experience across multiple services, locations and client environments.
Future enhancements include expanded location intelligence and additional digital communication channels to support continuous improvement in facilities management service delivery.
