Leyard Europe is strengthening its presence in Ireland as demand grows for workplace technology, digital signage and high-performance display systems, bringing another layer of technology into the facilities management agenda for Irish organisations.
The company has appointed Matt Stone as regional sales manager for Ireland, northern England and Scotland, with Stone based in Dublin. His background spans workplace technology, control rooms, digital signage and enterprise AV, giving the expanded regional operation experience directly aligned with the increasingly connected environments managed by FM teams. Live Design Online reported the expansion on 28 September.
Leyard is a global visual technology specialist supplying LED displays and visualisation systems across corporate, retail, education, hospitality, broadcast, control room and public-sector environments. Its European operation is supported by manufacturing facilities in Prešov, Slovakia, while its UK and Ireland team now includes Guy Phelps, Lee Baxter and Stone in field sales roles. Leyard’s regional contact structure confirms Ireland as a dedicated territory within its UK & Ireland operation.
For Facilities Management teams, the significance goes beyond the purchase of screens. Large-format displays are increasingly integrated into the physical estate through meeting rooms, reception areas, employee communications, wayfinding, collaboration spaces and operational control rooms. Once installed, these systems become part of the building environment and need to be considered alongside connectivity, power, mounting, access, maintenance and future replacement.
That makes specification an increasingly important FM consideration. A display system may sit within a workplace for years, requiring reliable operation, straightforward servicing and compatibility with other building and workplace technologies. FM teams can therefore have an important role in ensuring that visual technology supports the way a building is actually used rather than becoming another disconnected technology layer.
Leyard’s investment also includes a dedicated London showroom and VIP Lounge, where customers, consultants, integrators and end users can assess products and discuss projects. The company says the facility provides a space for demonstrations, customer meetings and collaboration, giving workplace and FM professionals an opportunity to consider display technology at specification stage.
Ireland’s growing workplace technology market makes the local presence particularly relevant. As organisations invest in hybrid working, employee experience and more digitally enabled offices, FM teams are increasingly involved in coordinating the technology, physical infrastructure and services that determine how those workplaces perform day to day.
For the sector, Leyard’s Irish expansion highlights how the FM remit is continuing to broaden. Workplace technology is no longer simply an IT or AV concern; when it is embedded into buildings and employee environments, its specification, reliability and lifecycle become part of effective estate management.
