Major energy retrofit works are under way at Our Lady of Lourdes Secondary School in Rosbercon, Co Wexford, as part of a €4 million investment aimed at improving energy efficiency, building performance and long-term sustainability across the campus.

The project, highlighted by the Irish Independent, follows the school's selection for the Department of Education's Schools Energy Retrofit Pathfinder Programme 2024/2025, which supports energy upgrades across public education facilities under Ireland's wider Climate Action REPowerEU initiative.

Construction works began during the summer and include a comprehensive programme of improvements designed to reduce energy consumption, lower carbon emissions and create a more comfortable learning environment for students and staff.
