Promera has expanded its European data centre facilities management platform through the acquisition of Formula Facilities Services and Critical Area Cleaning (CAC), establishing a UK and Ireland operating base covering specialist services from construction through live operations.

The acquisitions bring together complementary capabilities in contamination control, critical-environment maintenance and white-space management. Formula focuses on operational data centres, providing ongoing contamination-control and maintenance services to colocation and facilities-management customers, while CAC supports new facilities before and after construction, working with Tier 1 contractors on hyperscale and colocation projects. Promera said the combined platform is designed to support customers across the full data centre lifecycle.

Promera is a mission-critical data centre services provider backed by Angeles Equity Partners, with more than 45 years of experience across technical services including contamination control, critical-environment maintenance, white-space fit-out and airflow management. The company previously expanded into Asia through its acquisition of Data Clean Asia in Singapore, while its current UK and Ireland platform brings the acquired businesses into a wider international service model.

The move reflects how data centre facilities management is becoming increasingly specialised as digital infrastructure grows larger, denser and more operationally complex. Promera's UK and Ireland operation highlights the importance of protecting critical technology from particulate contamination that can affect equipment reliability, performance and uptime, making specialist cleaning and environmental controls an increasingly important part of facilities management.

For FM teams, the significance lies in the lifecycle approach. Combining construction-phase contamination control with ongoing operational maintenance creates greater continuity as facilities move from construction and commissioning into live critical environments. The approach also provides customers with specialist expertise across different stages of a facility's development, rather than treating construction cleaning and operational FM as entirely separate requirements.

Promera has also appointed Jim Harding as Managing Director, International, with responsibility for its operations and growth across Europe and Asia. Promera's announcement says Harding brings more than 25 years' experience across data centres, digital infrastructure and commercial real estate, including senior leadership positions at CBRE and Colovore.

For the sector, the expansion highlights the increasingly technical role of facilities management within digital infrastructure.
