Revisiting the Facilities Management Awards 2026, held last 11th March at the Radisson Blu, Royal Convention Centre, Dublin, Sodexo Ireland was recognised as the winner of the Facilities Management CSR Initiative of the Year award for its Stop Hunger partnership with A Lust for Life. The recognition highlighted how facilities management organisations can drive meaningful social impact by extending their commitment beyond the workplace and into the communities they serve.
The initiative set out to address something that facilities management companies are uniquely positioned to influence: the wellbeing of the communities in which they operate. Through its partnership with A Lust for Life, Sodexo Ireland supported a wellbeing and resilience programme grounded in psychology, mindfulness, and education, designed to equip school children with the emotional resilience, literacy, and awareness needed to navigate the challenges of everyday life. The programme reached 1,685 schools, 7,168 classrooms, and 226,844 students across Ireland, a scale of social impact that the judging panel described as nationally significant.
The judges were particularly struck by the programme's clarity of purpose and the depth of its social value. Reaching over 226,000 pupils nationwide and establishing a structured programme for more than 142,000 junior and senior infants each year, the initiative delivers meaningful outcomes at precisely the point in children's development where they matter most. For the facilities management sector, it represents a compelling example of how corporate social responsibility can extend well beyond the workplace to create lasting community impact.
What further distinguished Sodexo Ireland's submission was the quality of its corporate commitment. The partnership demonstrated clear innovation, strong alignment with core CSR priorities, and sustained leadership within facilities services in Ireland. Measurable results, significant support for a young charity, and the scale of reach achieved together made a compelling case that this was not a one-off initiative but an ongoing investment in social good.
The Facilities Management Awards 2026 recognised in Sodexo Ireland a business demonstrating that property services and facilities management can be a genuine force for positive change, far beyond the buildings and sites they manage.
Stay tuned for the Facilities Management Awards 2027 cycle, where Ireland's top facility and property management teams will once again have the opportunity to showcase their achievements.
