Yorkshire-based Sewell Facilities Management has been awarded a contract to deliver facilities management services at the onshore converter stations of Dogger Bank Wind Farm, the offshore project set to become the world's largest wind farm once fully operational, in a contract win that places the Hull-headquartered firm at the heart of the UK's critical renewable energy infrastructure.
Facilitate Magazine reported that the agreement covers onshore converter stations located in East Yorkshire and Redcar.
Sewell FM will manage a range of services at the converter station sites including heating, ventilation and air conditioning, grounds maintenance, water hygiene, cleaning and waste management, providing round-the-clock support to keep the facilities operational at all times.
Once fully operational, Dogger Bank Wind Farm is expected to generate around 5% of the UK's electricity supply, with capacity to power nearly six million homes across the country.
Tom Farrow, director at Sewell FM, said: "We're really excited to be starting this new contract with Dogger Bank Wind Farm, keeping their sites operating around the clock to power homes and businesses. Our multidisciplinary team of expert technicians will ensure the converter stations are kept in great condition, so that the Dogger Bank staff are able to concentrate on providing green electricity to the country."
Sewell FM is headquartered in Hull with offices in East Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and the North East, providing maintenance, compliance and safety services to clients across the North of England on a 24/7 basis, covering planned and reactive maintenance, and ensuring regulatory compliance across gas, water and fire requirements.
