SK tes, a global leader in secure technology lifecycle and IT asset disposition (ITAD) services, officially opened its new Shannon facility on 15 January 2026.
The company, headquartered internationally, established the site in one of Ireland’s fastest-growing technology regions.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Jin Mo Lee, SK tes Group CEO, alongside Minister Timmy Dooley, Minister of State for Climate, Energy, and the Environment. Minister Dooley, a Clare native, highlighted the intersection of Ireland’s digital economy growth and sustainability policies in data centre infrastructure.
Thomas Holberg, President EMEA at SK tes, said: “We are thrilled to celebrate the official opening of our Shannon facility – a site that embodies our commitment to Ireland’s technology sector, to the local community, and to a sustainable future. Our Shannon site will support Irish businesses in achieving their reuse and sustainability targets while creating meaningful employment and strengthening the region’s role as a technology and innovation hub. We are delighted to welcome Minister Timmy Dooley to officially open the site.”
Operational since Autumn 2025, the Shannon facility provides comprehensive ITAD, data centre decommissioning, and technology lifecycle management services to major Irish enterprises, including hyperscale data centre operators.
The site is designed to handle the full IT lifecycle, from deployment and operation to certified data destruction, following SK tes’ global standards for quality, compliance, and security.
The facility aligns with Ireland’s Climate Action Plan and Circular Economy Strategy, enabling businesses to achieve reuse and sustainability targets while strengthening regional employment and technology innovation.
SK tes has committed to repurposing one billion kilograms of assets by 2030 under its “sustaining tomorrow” initiative.
